New Kid Chap 8

Roxas looked at the man in the door way with curiosity. He had never seen eyes a shade of amber orange like this man had. They reminded the young blonde of a hungry cat, as they watched him an intensity that burned. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well.” Something in the young blonde screamed to turn and run but he pushed the feelings to the back of his mind and came fully down the stairs. He shook hands with the tall man.

“So your father tells me that you ride?” Xemnas turned to look at Roxas as he spoke the words.

They made their way to the dining room table. The red wood shone brilliantly with its fresh waxing. Food was displayed in front of them on silver platters. Roxas mentally smiled as he looked at the food, his father had gone all out. Normally they would order take out like pizza or Chinese food, but it was obvious that his dad was trying to show a more refined side.
“So what style of horseback riding do you participate in?” Xemnas pushed on the subject.
Roxas sat down and played with the hem of his shirt with discomfort. Something about this man felt…wrong.  “Jumpers, but I hope to start Cross Country.”
The man nodded as though he had known this all along. “So on average how much do you win?”
Roxas raised his eye brows, this was really weird. Why was this man so intent on him? He looked to his father, Cloud, but he simply motioned for him to answer. Roxas turned his attention back to Xemnas. “I don’t mean to seem boastful but I haven’t lost a single competition I’ve entered.”
A cold smile crept back onto Xemans’ face. “Perfect.” He turned to Cloud and gave a nod, “you have yourself a deal.”
Roxas looked between the two of them feeling out of the loop. What just happened?




Axel watched as Rufus left the room with a smirk on his face, before he closed the door though he turned around to face Axel. “Don’t be an idiot like last time Axel, make the right choice this time.”
Before he could say anything the man was out the room and the door fell shut behind him. What could they possibly have that Axel would be willing to go back into the show ring for?



“I didn’t know that you were into horseback riding,” Riku said with surprise.
Roxas looked at the silver hair boy with discomfort; he and Sora were obnoxiously close for a casual conversation with a third party. And since when had they become a ‘thing?’ He was back at school and was telling the two boys about the strange dinner from the night before. “Yeah I’ve been riding since I was little.”
Sora smiled, “that’s cool.” He then snuggled deeper into the hold of Riku.
“Do you want me to leave you two alone?”
Sora shook his head, “no I want to hear more about the dinner, Riku and I will have alone time tonight.”
Roxas gave an involuntary shutter, he did not need that much information. “Well after he told my dad they had a deal he began talking about training schedules and show dates.”
“That’s strange,” Riku said.
Sora nodded, “maybe you should do a search on this guy, she what his angle is.”
Roxas shrugged, “I can’t imagine it’s anything that bad, he’s a client of my father.” At that the bell rang for the students to head to their classes. The three stood and headed towards Chemistry.
They filed in and found their seats. Roxas watched as Axel walked in and found his seat behind the blonde looking very distracted about something. “So when do you hear more from this Xemnas?”
“I don’t know, he said that he would be in contact with my father on when I should expect my advanced training starts.”
A screech echoed in the room and everyone turned to see Axel had jumped from his seat causing the sound. He was looking at Roxas with wide eyes, an emotion in them that Roxas had never seen before.
Those green, green eyes locked with Roxas’ blue eyes. “Did you say Xemnas? Roxas what have you done?”
